As the largest solar services firm in North America, SunEdison is a partner you can trust to bring your solar project to fruition.
In fact, SunEdison designed, developed and launched Canada’s largest active solar energy farm, “First Light,” which covers 90 acres of land in eastern Ontario and is expected to generate 10 million kilowatt hours (kWhs) in its first year:
- enough to power 1000 homes
- equivalent of taking almost 1,800 cars off the road
- 8,000 metric tons of carbon removed from the atmosphere
Generally speaking, ground-mount PV systems may be installed on parcels of land 50 acres or more, assuming the ability to obtain required environmental permits. We utilize both fixed and tracking ground-mount systems and will design the solar PV system based on the unique characteristics of your property.
Distinct SunEdison advantages for ground-mount system customers include:
- No upfront capital investment under our Solar Services Model
- Superior lease rates from vacant land allocated to the project
- Fully managed systems via our utility-scale command and control center
- No need for expensive transmission and distribution build out
- Environmental leadership
- Support for public affairs and Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives
